Patron Capacity Report
Every licensed premises has a capacity. The capacity refers to the number of patrons that can be on the premises at once. Different venues have different capacities, depending on the size of the venue. The type of venue can also play a part in this. To obtain a licence, the premises must first request a patron capacity report from.
What is a maximum patron capacity report?
A patron capacity report is a document that confirms the maximum number of people that you can have in a licensed venue. It’s an essential report for any bar, club or restaurant that is applying for a liquor licence. This report can only be obtained through a registered surveyor.
A capacity report will take into account a number of factors within the premises. This includes the total floor space, toilet facilities, entrances and exits, and more. All of these factors have an impact on the safety of the premises, and will be investigated during the assessment stage.
The report and its findings may also be used to calculate the annual fee of the liquor licence for the venue. If a venue exceeds their permitted capacity, they can be subject to heavy fines. This is enforced by the relevant state body.

An on-site inspection may also be required, though not always. Once you submit a request for a report and make payment, your surveyor will be in touch and let you know if any further information is required. Fitout Permits is an experienced, registered building surveyor. Get in touch with us today.
